Data Security
Black Ridge Precision uses a local-first approach where practical. Many profiles, stages, settings, group records, notes, and app preferences are stored on your device.
Data in Transit
When the app communicates with cloud services, weather providers, map providers, diagnostics systems, AI services, or Black Ridge Precision services, those connections use encrypted HTTPS or platform-supported secure transport where available.
Local Device Security
Local app data is protected by the security features of your device and operating system. Users should keep their device updated, use a screen lock, and avoid sharing unlocked devices when sensitive field data is stored in the app.
Optional Cloud and Third-Party Processing
Some features require sending data outside the device, including weather requests, elevation lookups, shared weather rooms, diagnostics, transcription, stage import, or AI-assisted features. These features are used only when needed for the selected function.
Diagnostics
Usage diagnostics are optional. If enabled, diagnostic data may be used to identify crashes, solver issues, device compatibility problems, and performance problems.
Backups and Exports
If you export, share, back up, screenshot, email, text, or save app data to photos or files, that exported copy is controlled by the destination app, service, or device storage location.
Security Limits
No mobile app or internet service can guarantee perfect security. If we become aware of a security issue that affects user data, we will take reasonable steps to investigate, mitigate, and notify affected users where required.
